Dameron Cook - Producer


Hello, I’m Dameron Cook. I’m the producer for Wizards and Warriors. As a producer, I’m in charge of making sure that the team is organized and that the game reaches a cohesive whole. I have to work closely with everyone on all facets of the game to make sure that the game gets finished and that no one person is handling more work than they can handle. It’s important that I stay adaptable and am willing to change the game to fit our needs. I have to responsibly look at what our game is and make sure that we can finish something that we’re all proud of. I have to find that fine balance between ambition and feasibility so that we’re all pushing ourselves appropriately. 

We’ve done a lot of discussion to make sure that players get a sensation of power while they’re deep in the game. It’s up to me to make sure that every facet of the game supports that fundamental feeling of power. Every piece of the game has to add up or the sensation of power will be lost. For example, we’ll have to carefully balance the difficulty of the game. If players don’t feel a challenge, they’ll never feel powerful, so we have to prepare the game for that. Our enemies, wave system, and level design all have to culminate together for this to work. My role in this is to make sure that the systems will work together and that work is getting done at all ends. If this isn’t properly communicated, things could fall through, and the game could fall apart! It’s my job to make sure that healthy communication happens at all ends. If everything plays together nicely, players will be feeling POWERFUL.
